This is one of the important subjects in the field of Medical and Health Care programs offered as a short-term Certificate course at Springfield College. Knowledge of Human Anatomy & Physiology is essential for students wishing to pursue a dream career in a medical setup or hospitals to communicate with patients and other health care professionals. This program consists of –

  • the knowledge and understanding related to  Body Structure, Anatomy & Physiology of all the human body systems such as Integumentary System, Musculoskeletal System, Gastrointestinal System, Urinary System, Reproductive System, Nervous System, Respiratory System, CVS, Endocrine System, special senses etc.

 

Learning Outcomes:

 

Students will demonstrate the ability to:

 

  • Define the anatomical organization of the Human Body.

  • List the structure and function of cells, tissues, and organs within organ systems.

  • Outline various functions, support, movement, and protection and maintenance of the body through coordination of various body systems.

  • Identify the integration of organ systems in organization of the Human Body

  • Define cell components, cytology, histology, DNA replication.

  • Describe general characteristics and functions of major tissue types, extracellular junctions, glands, and membranes.

  • Identify the association between the structural and functional components of the cells, tissues, organs and body systems to make the body as a whole.

  •  Apply the biological principles to the practice of the Human Anatomy and Physiology

  • Interpret the physiological aspect of body systems, growth and development and maintenance of the body.

  • Identify anatomical structures of the body and the related medical terms.

  • Describe the Anamtomy & Physiology of various human body systems, including Integumentary System, Musculoskeletal System, Gastrointestinal System, Urinary System, Reproductive System, Nervous System, Respiratory System, CVS, Endocrine System, special senses etc.
