Course Objectives:

  • To understand the technical components of Electrocardiography

  • To understand application and use of ECG Equipment and supplies in the medical field

  • To have the knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the EKG technician and how it relates to patient care.

  • To demonstrate understanding of normal electrophysiology of the cardiac system

  • To recognize normal waveforms in the electrical conduction of the cardiac system

  • To identify common variations in the electrical conduction of cardiac system

  • To distinguish deadly heart rhythms in the electrical conduction of the cardiac system

  • To demonstrate understanding and differences of 3, 5 and 12 lead cardiac monitoring devices and various electrode attachments

 

Course Prerequisite:

  • Nursing or Medical background

  • Degree or Diploma in a medical discipline OR a minimum of 1 year experience in a medical setting

  • Student undergoing Diploma program in medical and healthcare

  • English Proficiency

Program Duration 

Our Different EKG /ECG programs are as follows-

  • Certificate of EKG /ECG (Basic Program) - Equal to 15-20 hrs   

  • Certificate of EKG /ECG (Advanced Program)-  Equal to  40 hrs
